Not sure what "left side" you mean. WinSCP cannot display the connection list on the main window (and it never could).
Maybe you are have turned off Login dialog from automatically popping up on the start?

When I open WinSCP how can I see a list of the connections I have defined? This used to be visible on the left side of my screen.
