The problem happens rarely. I cannot reproduce it.
Unfortunately, I have not idea what caused this to happen. WinSCP was running in the background, and I didn't notice when it occurred until I was going to reboot my machine and tried to quite WinSCP.
I was connected to servers over a VPN which may have been disconnected and reconnected several times. I also put my laptop to sleep over the weekend without shutting it down or disconnecting WinSCP.
