Can't you just set the directory to that in your Site Manager, so when you connect you're in that folder?

I would like the tree view to start at
/customers/e/d/e/c4kcogabl/webroots/sites/webspace/httpdocs/websitename
I would like the tree view to start at
/websitename instead
