This typically happens when your network/firewall/whatever replaces the certificate chain and the replaced root certificate cannot be verified by Windows Certificate store.

You can workaround that by configuring WinSCP with your replaced root certificate:

I am on 6.5.3.
Is it possible that this issue is back?
Connections to servers via SFTP work fine, only the update fails
