In any case I have more issues to report. Have some local files with .htm and .html file extensions. Then sort by "Ext" in local window in commander interface. The sort mixes up htm and html but in remote window the Ext sort groups htm together and html together.
Will try that.

Another thing, is that I am using Ie8 Beta when posting in this forum and when I have reached the limit of the text area for posting, and I start typing in more the display becomes very erratic and the tex area jumps around and does not allow me to type more than one- text area full.
Will try that once IE8 is out.
Also as seen in attached screenshot the "No confirmations" check box is grayed out. I do remember one time I wanted not to ask me for overwriting files to remote FTP, but not always. If automatic overwriting is enabled in preferences and you have option to choose "no confirmations" to "confirmations needed' then that checkbox should not be grayed out - another usability issue. If confirmations can only be set in preferences then there is no point in having a checkbox that is grayed out and cannot respond to user input..
The checkbox is related to background transfers only (when
Transfer on background is checked).

There is an option to auto-reconnect but that works only during a transfer. I keep my connection open without doing a transfer then when it gets disconnected it just says Disconnected in the status bar and I have to click on Sessions > Disconnect, and then again Connect. As long as the window is open I want autoreconnect.
You should get a popup window with option to reconnect in this case. I haven't seen behaviour like that before. what version of WinSCP are you using? What protocol?
Also something prevents favicon.ico files in the remote server from displaying their icon thumbnail in commander interface. The .ico files in local window show the thumbnail or icon short form. But not in remote window. But word and pdf docs in the remote ftp server show their corresponding icons.
WinSCP does not download remote files to extract their icon. It only associates icons with the remote files based on their extension.

When you have files that have been changed recently in your local folder and you sort by "Changed" in the local window, the folders appear first, even though some files have later modification dates and theya re supposed to appear first. This is differnet from Standard windows explorer sorting behavior where regardless of whether it is a folder or a file, the latest modified date always appears at the top when you do this sort in Win Explorer. Another usability issue. I am not trying to find fault but I would like to see to get these fixed in the next release.
Not true for my WinXP box. My Windows Explorer always puts folders first. Can you post a screenshot?
Another quirk is that, in the remote window when you are using Ctrl to multiple select files, the FIRST file is not getting included in multi select. This is also different from standard windows explorer multi-select behavior. To reproduce this problem normal click on any file in a remote window, then press Ctrl and click on another file in the same remote window, and the original click did not select the file
In Commander mode, when you click on a file, it is not selected, only focused. Please read
documentation.
