I think for the latest beta it is definitely worth it - you get to test out the new sessions panels which is a great improvement from older versions.
The lastest beta has been really stable for me and I even run it for connection to production servers (shock! horror!)
Or you can download the portable version of the program, as offered by the official website. The portable version will still fetch data from your user profile so you won't have to re-configure it again, while, on the other hand, it won't change your system or change your currently installed WinScp. A win-win choice :)
How stable is the beta? I'm looking to install it myself because I need TransferOptions.ResumeSupport in the .Net library but the beta tag makes me a little worried about the stability.
I am using 5.1.7. I keep seeing notifications for new beta versions (5.2.5 is latest).
Are these worth upgrading to?
Are your uneven numbers (5.1, 5.3 etc) your 'release' versions and even numbers the beta versions?
(I used to work with GNOME which had uneven for development and even for release versions)
