I was running a background transfer with 2 queues on a Windows Server 2022 VM.
I disconnected and came back to find the error. This is the first time I tried 2 different queued downloads at the same time.

I have sent you an email with a debug version of WinSCP to the address you have used to register on this forum.

Using Windows Remote Desktop Connection, I was remoted into a computer which normally has a screen resolution of 2560x1440 (each on two screens). The guest computer I was using has I think 1920x1440 resolution, so there's always that wonky desktop resizing that goes on when remote connecting or logging in at the physical location of a computer that has had a remote guest.

I left WinSCP running over night, and the next day I logged in at the physical location of the host computer (i.e. not remotely), and discovered this error prompt.

WinSCP appeared to still be functional, but it could not display any local directory listings until I restarted the application.

(Probably related, and I'm not sure if I've reported this already, but if I leave WinSCP running on the host's second screen, then remote in with a single-screen view on the guest, WinSCP will often be largely unresponsive. Each of the two computers has two screens, and I frequently remote from one location to the other and vice versa, always with a single-screen view through Remote Desktop.)

After the last update this error comes up every time I switch to another user on my laptop and back. The left panel (local) then does not show anything and clicking "Refresh" or trying to open a folder does not fix it.

The problem happens rarely. I cannot reproduce it.

The error occured on a Windows PC when using it via Remote Desktop. I clicked the WinSCP icon at the taskbar and then this error message showed. I suspect the program crashed because of the screen resolution change that takes place when using a Remote Desktop connection to a PC that before was used normally (using it directly with attached monitor, keyboard and mouse, not via Remote Desktop). Or maybe some other video settings change triggers an error when using Remote Desktop after normal usage.

It is hard to reproduce. This is the first time it happened with WinSCP. I have seen other applications crash as a result of the switch from normal to Remote Desktop usage or vice versa.

I have installed the debug version but the problem didn't appear, so I reinstalled regular version and it's not there anymore either, i'll keep an eye if it comes back

This may or may not be related to another recurring issue, relevant to Remote Desktop Connection. At home I have two monitors, but when I remote in from work via Remote Desktop Connection everything gets rearranged to a single desktop.

My home screens' resolutions are both set to 1920x1080, but my work screen is set to 2560x1440 scaled at 125%, so when I remote into my home computer there's also a bunch of window resizing that happens.

If I leave WinSCP running while at home then remote in from work, it will usually lock up if I left its window on the secondary screen. There maybe an error in such a case, but I don't know because the window is stuck on the unseen secondary screen and is unresponsive so I end up killing the process in Task Manager.

If I leave WinSCP running on the primary screen when I leave home then remote in, it usually doesn't have an error.

This time, I think I left WinSCP running on the primary screen when I left home yesterday. I remoted in from work for a few hours, then last night after I had closed the remote connection my wife used the home computer, then put it to sleep. Today my wife woke up the home computer so that I could remote in, and then I found WinSCP having the error being reported here.
