I had a remote file open and disconnected. Upon reestablishing connection I tried editing the file and hit ctrl+S and this happened. Closing and opening the editor solves it.

I opened a small file (Less than 5Kb) to be edited in Notepad++, after finishing the changes, WinSCP started to crash each time I saved the new file.
The only solution was, to close the opened file and re-open it again and do the changes.

All was working fine last night. I was editing a source code file in Notepad++ using WinSCP's right-click|Edit. WinSCP window was covered by another. Left it all overnight and returned in the morning, made some more edits in Notepad++ and they weren't being reflected in the code so I looked at the WinSCP window expecting a lost connection. That's when I saw the error. I have 23GB out of 32GB memory used, which is high: normally below 16GB used. Having nearly 50 Firefox tabs open would do that.

Context: Opening a file to edit in WinSCP, using external editor: Sublime Text 3/4 (problem occurs with both)
Steps: If I leave the session for a while, or hibernate, and then edit save in external editor, WinSCP is unable to save and results in this error.

List index out of bounds (-1) - System::Syncobjs::TCriticalSection::Enter

I just connected to one of the FTP accounts I have in WinSCP and I encountered this issue. Maybe it was because I was clicking on keyboard when I tried connecting to the FTP? Not sure how I encountered this issue. I tried replicating it once more but I was not able to replicate the issue anymore.

I think the crash happened while saving an edited file from a session that had been disconnected and manually reconnected.

The file was from an SFTP session. I'd also had an FTP connection open, which had lost its connection.

Invalid access to memory - System::Syncobjs::TCriticalSection::Enter

Editing use external editor (sublime text), have the file open and try to save. Save caused issued.

Steps
1. I had another tab open to the same server.
2. In the other tab, I accidentally started to download a file after I was simply trying to rename it (please DO NOT AUTO-DOWNLOAD on double click.. it's super freaking annoying)
3. I cancelled the autodownload, which forced disconnection to the session
4. I reconnected, and then went back to the original tab with the file i was editing.
5. In the original tab, I also found this had disconnected as well, so I reconnected in this one.
6. I tried to save the edited file in sublime text, and the error occurred.
