script in batch

somebody can help me please? :)
I need to use some wildcarts that provide a copy of all the files with extention .txt
I had used this
"cd /remotehost" ^
"put *.txt" ^
but when the script ran appears the message
"No file matching '*.txt' found.
Im newly in this code and im trying to create a very simple script in batchmode

So are there any .txt files in the current local working directory?
Maybe you need to add lcd C:\local\source\path command.

yes there are many .txt files in the local source and I´m using these entire commands instructions:

lcd Y:" ^
"cd /remotehost" ^
"put *.txt" ^
but it seems no file is found maybe because I´m not using the correct mask (*.txt)?
