MSI deployment package is in Catalan language

Hello guys,

We are trying to deploy MSI in an AD environmenent, using deployment GPOs.
In the Application deployment menu, it seems the package for version 6.1 is "Catalan".
However our Windows computers are in English language.
We know beta version 6.0.1 works fine and the only thing clearly different (except the version), is the language in which the MSI package seems to be created.

Have anyone had this issue with version 6.1?

The MSI contains all complete languages. I'm not sure what is the logic by which MSI picks the language. I know that it's not the actual Windows language, as on my English system, it still picks Czech (my language). Possibly because I have Czech regional settings. Isn't it the same at your system?

Thank you for your response.
Our regional settings and language are set to USA and English only.
It seems people have trouble to install multi-language MSI.
What was the language from version 6.0.1 Beta of MSI package?
Maybe we can check differences linked to the language between the 2 versions.

6.0.1 MSI did not include any translations. It was English only.
So do I understand right, that Catalan is completely wrong choice for you? No relation to Catalan at all?
It might be that your system picks the first language (Catalan might be the first alphabetically – I cannot check now).

Yes you understand right, Catalan isn't the language I need, I need English.
But most importantly, it seems having translation in the MSI package completely disable the deployment using GPO in our AD environment.
Why doesn't installation of multi-language MSI work via GPO?
It seems other people had issues regarding multi-language application. They're talking about transaction ID, but I don't know if WinSCP uses this kind of process.

Anyway, I'm in business trip for 2 weeks, I will send you my email to try and perform tests when I come back.

I have added this issue to the tracker:
Issue 2199 – MSI installer runs in Catalan language (or possibly fails) when used in GPO
I've fixed the installer according to the link you have posted (thanks!).
But I cannot test it.
By the time you are back, WinSCP 6.1.1 with the fix should be out. Please test it.

This new 6.1.1 MSI-setup does not work at all for me:

Error with registry key products\37A8B8390D0ADA848939EB2E7EFD79DA\installProperties
Setup could not write to key VersionMajor

I have the exact same problem with the latest MSI package

I've decided to give up on localized MSI. It's gonna be in English only. It still installs all WinSCP localizations.
