Algorithm used for the fast calculation of file/directory size/amount

Hi, I would like to ask what algorithm is used for the fast calculation of file/directory size/amount and if its a proprietary one and its not something you want to keep secret if you could describe how it works. Thanks Jakub

Sorry, I do not know what you mean. In what situation do you think WinSCP uses some fast algorithm? I do not think it does.
