Permission denied.
Error code: 3
Error message from server: Permission denied
Request code: 6

any ideas why?

error code 3 too

I am also getting error code 3. I am able to transfer files using the exe. but running it from the scheduler/console I get:

permission denied
error code 3
error message from server permission denied.

why would I get that from the console and not from the exe?

Compare the log files from console and the exe and you will see :-) If not please post the log files.

You should ask for help someone you can grant you the permissions.

Please post a full log file showing the problem.

To generate log file, enable logging, log in to your server and do the operation and only the operation that causes the error. For posting extensive logs you may use pastebin or similar application. Note that passwords and passphrases not stored in the log. You may want to remove other data you consider sensitive though, such as host names, IP addresses, account names or file names (unless they are relevant to the problem). If you do not want to post the log publicly, you may email it to me. You will find my address (if you log in) in my forum profile. Please include link back to this topic in your email. Also note in this topic that you have emailed the log.

I too get this error.

You should ask for help someone you can grant you the permissions.

And this is not the problem I am logged in as root.

System Error Code: 3 The system cannot find the path

Got this too with v434 and v5 beta - reverted to v429 and no more problems :)

Can you send me an email, so I can send you back a debug version of WinSCP to track the problem? Please include link back to this topic in your email. Also note in this topic that you have sent the email. Thanks.

You will find my address (if you log in) in my forum profile.

RE: error code 3!

If you are logged in as yourself, make sure you have WinSCP configured to switch to sudo. This will give you the permissions you need to do everything.

try this in the connection configuration:
On your first screen, switch your File Protocol to SCP
Then on the SCP/Shell screen on the Shell Input field type /bin/bash -c 'sudo su -'.
