Timeout issue opening directory with a large number of files

I am using WinSCP 4.2.7 (Build 758) on WinXP SP3

I am accessing a linux server and one of the directories has about 282K files on it. I navigate to this firectory and according to the log, the list times out at about 10 min. The UI lockes up at this point and I need to X out or kill the process.

Is there a limit to how large a directory can be?

This is the end of the log file on Debug2 I can upload the rest, but it is rather large and it looks like it was running fine in that part.

I do not see any error in the log file. Have you tried waiting for a while for the GUI to start responding again?

Same problem. Try open local directory with many files (500+) and quick search something in it... (sometimes this problem exist in directory with not many files. For example I had last 10 builds of winscp in same directory and WinSCP very long red icons for each exe-file)

Are you saying that WinSCP GUI was blocked while the icons were being loaded?
